Teaching Summer Camp Staff to (occasionally) Put Themselves First
It's hard to find the balance between FOMO (fear of missing out) and taking good care of your self at summer camp. It's hard as a director and it's even harder as a counsellor.
On this week's show, Scott talks through some of the problems of pushing ourselves too hard and how to make sure we are getting the rest and breaks we need.
His other focus is the summer staff. Scott lays out some criteria for observing your staff and noticing when they need to be told "It's time to catch up on your sleep. Go to bed."
Take care of yourself.
